Z20 batteries

The new Z20 system is available in combination with different battery types. These vary in capacity, size and shape.

External battery

  • Easy-to-remove battery, e.g., for charging at home
  • The pedelec can be used as a normal bicycle – riding without battery

* Realistic data for 100 W rider output and favourable conditions: Riding in assistance level 1, Eco mode, flat terrain, 70 kg additional load, incl. rider, under optimal conditions greater range possible.

Battery V2

Capacity of up to 612 Wh for ranges up to 145 km*

Akku v5

Battery V5

Capacity of up to 500 Wh for ranges up to 120 km*

Semi-integrated batterys

  • Slim design – the pedelec looks like a "normal" bicycle

* Realistic data for 100 W rider output and favourable conditions: Riding in assistance level 1, Eco mode, flat terrain, 70 kg additional load, incl. rider, under optimal conditions greater range possible.

Akku V7

Battery V7

Capacity of up to 500 Wh for ranges up to 120 km*

Akku V8

Battery V8

Capacity of up to 625 Wh for ranges up to 145 km*

Energierückgewinnung beim Bergabfahren

Energy recovery

  • Activation of the motor brake when riding downhill
  • Increased range
  • Reduced wear and tear on the brakes for greater durability

How recuperation works

It is well known that opulent braking generates a lot of heat. In a car, for example, the tyres would start to smoke. However, this should not be underestimated with bicycles either. The tyres also become very hot during a strong braking manoeuvre. An electric motor that has the ability to feed energy back into the motor when braking instead of letting it evaporate uselessly in the environment can assist the battery longer. Hub motors such as our neodrives rear motor can be optimally used for this purpose. In principle, it does not matter whether the motor is located in the rear or front wheel, but in most cases the motors are located in the rear wheel. A bottom bracket motor, on the other hand, where the rider acts directly on the bicycle chain, is not able to recuperate.
